Electro
Okay, I always love hearing new styles, even if they are becoming the new 'thing' at the moment. Lately, probably with the release of the Postal Service a couple of years ago, I've been a sucker for the new electro-pop / indie-rock blend. As well, I've also become quite fascinated with electro groups such as Chromeo and Ratatat since the end of last year, after a friend recommended them to me. I would put them both in the same category of music, which is a retro sounding electronica sound that is both funky and smooth, which I think is called 'Electro'.
I just wanted to discuss these two groups for a moment, that being Chromeo and Ratatat. I would try to put more groups in this group as well, such as those on Chromeo's record label, Turbo Records, but I won't 'cause I don't know enough about them.
Chromeo - She's In Control - "Needy Girl" is just too nice to pass by. That song is audio-heroine; a little scary and unsual at first, but hooks you within a minute or two. That was kinda a weak-ass metaphor...oh well. Just listening to a couple of tracks makes you understand why it's called 'electro'.
Ratatat - Self-titled - This album is awesome...until it starts to sound the same by the end and you get a little tired of the sound. Until that point, usually by the eigth track or so, it is pure fire. Check it out and tell me what you think.

I've been diggin' Ratatat for awhile now... Got it off of Julia (juliasradio.blogspot.com). But I know what you mean about the repetition factor.
Still... key.

Paul, if you were to rate your favourite foods out of 4 and 5 stars, what would they be?
I like your song lists, but I'm curious to know what your dietary delights are.

oooh...Louise...see, the thing is, I would have to create a whole new blog dedicated to food if I were to 'rate' my favourite kinds.
This is my music blog. Not my food blog.
We'll see if I can compromise.
